You'll notice that a new member from Guatemala has posted some images of his fashion designs. Do they exploit women? I have asked him to explain these images so we can be better judges of that. Let's wait to see what he says.

Dear Juan
Here's a copy of the message I sent you:
It is interesting to see your images in Craft Talk. I think they will be surprising to our members. We are not used to seeing attractive women used to promote craft. It is possible that some members will be offended by this. But we try to keen an open mind in Craft Talk to account for cultural differences.
To help understand your work, could you please answer the following questions:
1. What is your involvement with the clothes in these images?
2. Why did you choose these models who are similar to those found in Western magazines?
3. Which is your key audience for these clothes? Is it audiences in the north or in Guatemala?
4. How do you respond to those who say that these photos exploit women?
Also, can I ask you to put an image of yourself in the profile, rather than the image of the woman?
I think your responses to these questions would be of great interest to everyone.
